Independent Review into the 2023 Fish Deaths in the Darling-Baaka River at Menindee

The Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer engaged Risk-e Business Consultants as Emergency Management experts for a review into the February-March 2023 fish deaths in the Darling-Baaka River at Menindee.

The review examined the 2023 fish death event, its causes and contributing factors, environmental conditions, water management and emergency response to this event.

The review included feedback from community and agency stakeholders, as well as staff involved in the emergency response and recovery.

Risk-e Business contributed expertise in emergency management to develop multiple recommendations for consideration by The Hon Penny Sharpe MLC, Minister for the Environment and The Hon Rose Jackson MLC, Minister for Water.
