Rob Critchlow, Senior Consultant

Rob is a seasoned leader in law enforcement, specialising in targeting money laundering and drug trafficking, with a tenure as Commander of the NSW Organised Crime Squad.

As Commander of the NSW Organised Crime Squad and Head of Profession for Anti-Money Laundering from 2021 to 2022, Rob reviewed and modernised NSW Police Anti-money laundering operations and unit structure.

He also reviewed and reformed Casino and Gaming operations, ensuring they were aligned with the latest standards and practices. Rob led high-level Anti-money laundering investigations, developing strategic partnerships with industry to combat money laundering through luxury motor vehicles and property development.

Rob was an integral member of the project team that developed and drafted new NSW Unexplained Wealth Legislation. His role included briefing ministers, the Attorney General, and the Premier to drive legislative reform. He also contributed to the NSW Crime Commission's Operation Islington, which examined money laundering through licensed premises and electronic gaming machines.

In his oversight role, Rob contributed to the Independent Liquor and Gaming review of Star Casino, focusing on Casino and regulated industries. He was a key member of the national anti-money laundering working group and the NSW Operations Coordination group, where he provided leadership among State and federal Law Enforcement Agencies targeting money laundering and related drug trafficking.

Rob's expertise is recognised nationally, and he serves as a subject matter expert and visiting fellow at the Australian Federal Police College for the national Management of Serious Crime Leadership Program. He is currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Financial Crime and Compliance program at Griffith University.
